Welcome to 12gSalon, an online resource for South Asian art and culture. We aim to connect the various artistic disciplines within South Asian art, from plastic art, poetry, and literature to drama, dance, music, and film. Through this, we hope to bring awareness about these vibrant cultures, both in their past incarnations and now in their current and future evolutions. Articles on various disciplines will be featured, along with related news articles, exhibition and performance reviews, and auction listings.
12gSalon is maintained by Twelve Gates Arts located in Olde City, Philadelphia. We specialize in contemporary South Asian art and are dedicated to exhibiting artists with a reputation for unique work that follows in, as well as expands on, the rich history and culture of this area. In addition to our own exhibits, we host various events throughout the year including artist talks, film screenings, and music and dance performances.
